After a friend of mine got a ticket OUTSIDE the plano city limits, writen by a Plano City copy OUTSIDE of his jurisdiction, the Judge in the case refused to dismiss the case. Since my friend had a taken the defensive driving class 3 days short of exactly one year (2 days since it was a leap year), the judge also choose to demand the affected person (who had already taken a new defensive driving class and set her plea based on that class) pay $50.00 more in fees.

This is obvious low grade behavior on the city of Planos part. I have seen a huge rise in Plano police presense OUTSIDE of their jurisidiction.

The city is obviously looking to make up short falls in their budget at the expense of citizens of the neighboring cities.

THIS MUST BE STOPPED!

Take action, do not go near the city of Plano. Do not purchase anything inside the city of Plano (hurt them back where it counts, the tax revenue).

In My Day, We Called Them "Speed Traps"

Some little village located by an interstate or federal highway decides to make some money by writing tickets to speeders and some make an entire livelhood of it until the Texas Legislature supposedly put a stop to it..but thee are ways around everything...

Venus is up there in your neck of the woods and those cops are masters of concealment at night ---suddenly there they are and here is your speeding Ticket --sign the line, mighty fine. Do not give them probable cause to search your car either and some of these places will impound you if your inspection sticker is out.

Down further South from the Metroplex, on I 35 Bell County, Round Rock is bad.

Soon you will get to THE BIG THREE between New Braunfels and San Antonio:

Selma - I heard they bought some surplus military equipment from one of the bases in San Antonio and ran radar from the roof of their  city hall in the daye of thr 55 mph speed limit. Still out there and still writing tickets.

Schertz - German type copes with lots of tude. Will write you for everything

Lone Oak - Where to start?

Do NOT risk it.

Slow down, the best place to drive is all in a group and stay with the other drivers... No time to give a short class on how cops give tickets --cause I used to write tickets too...back in the day

Yes, there are speed traps and Plano is one. I used to know them all when I was working but don't get out of the hoiuse much these days, sad to say.

There are speed traps that are worse than Plano though., Nobody wnts to go there but yuppies and soccer mom types anyway...
