Got a pncpaycar from PNC bank for the healtcare reward done through my employer.
Card is for $150. Here are the fees listed on the back:
Phone call fee of $2.50
Reissue lost or stolen card $5
I will just attach the copy if can on the web site after I scan it.

There is also an web address is written on the letter which is mailed along the card. As per the letter you goto pncprepaidcard.com and register\check your card. you go ther and it has security certificate issues at least on my computer as on 8/28/2015. Then there is another address pncpaycard.com asking to go there to activate\register you card. after you enter all info it says it is wrong. I did 6-7 times as I had the letter and the card infront of me copy the info from. Finally it locked me out.
Now I had to call and pay $2.50 to talk to them. So I called she took my number and put me on hold and came back telling me that it is activated. I asked her what is my balacne she tells me it is $140. So I got charged $10 for a replacement card as this card was a REPLACED card from them since I could not use it while I tried to this all for the first time. I misplaced the first card, then I called them and the first representative was very nice to issue me card and told me she will waive both charges i.e. $2.50 for the first call to activate the card. $5 to reissue the card.
Now this rep just told me I had $140.00 which looks like $2.50 for first call $5 for reissue card and $2.50 for the second call to activate the card.
Now I goto website and check my balance. It says card not valid. It has cost me about 90 minutes in time as well.
Ask yourself why would we fool with giftcards or debit cards. There is no benefit just a loss. If you give someone a gift give them cash. It is the best gift. why to tie your recipient to a store and make their wallet fat with 10-20-30$ gift cards and let those smart companies make us stupid.
I never give any giftcard and if someone stupid gives me one I go and buy something right then. I keep the item as gift card with receipt stuck to it. People please do not buy gift cards to screw yourself and you loved one. that is all I have to say.
