I am a small business owner and do, at least for a while longer, my business banking with PNC. I opened a merchant services account to handle my credit card sales. When presented with the options I was offered a three year contract. That sounded too long to me and I expressed this to the sales person via email. He replied back to me that I would only have to commit to a year.

After that year was up, I had been taking fewer credit cards and decided to cancel the credit card swipe account. When I called to do this I was told I have a three year contract and the sales person did not recall telling me it was for one year only. So I forwarded the email that very clearly stated that to their service department. I was then told, "Sorry." Doesn't matter what the sales person told you in writing. You're stuck with the fees each month.

So basically PNC let's their salespeople run rogue, lie to their clients and are totally dishonorable when it comes to honoring their word.

In the near future I am hoping to speak with local media to discuss PNC's deceptive practices.
