Poetry.com I just want to know what is going on and why i did not receive any word from this company, ripoff. Maryland
I sent in about 25 works of poetry to poetry.com beginning april of 2004. My first work, Afghanistan, was said to have made it to the semi-finalist. A Mr. Ely Howard wrote me seeking to publish said work in a forthcoming collection, known as the Eternal portraits. I did not give my consent. I sent in more works but never heard from poetry.com nor see my works displayed on my page.
I have almost said it all in my brief above, i sent works of poetry to poetry.com without knowing what have become of the pieces i wrote. they never told me they were not good,though they praised me of having a talent different from others. they used words like unique creative ideas. i believed them since i wrote about issues more than love and laughter.
Afghanistan,they told me by mail made it to the semi-final stage of poetry contest and was expected to win at least a thousand dollars if not the ten thousand grand prize.
i made several attempts to reach either Ely Howard,who wrote me but i got my mails back for using wrong mail address [ID]. i made phone calls at great cost but was told to reach extension 2 which have been unreachable.
Of my works are [1]Afghanistan [2]Iraq,[3] the goddess and many others bringing the total to about 25 works.
my works are displayed for two or three days and thereafter taken off,of all only Afghanistan could be seen on display.
I have all the hand written copies of my original works.
i just want to know what is going on and why i did not receive any word from this company.
