A recent business fraud happened to us, we are Bahrain based Trading & Distribution business and had a requirement of Leather Gloves, where our search over the internet for a suitable supplier brought us in contact with Mr. Mian Qaiser Mehmood of M/s. Power Leather Industries, Sialkot, Pakistan from whom we received a sample of the required product which was approved by our client. Following sample approval, after long negotiations we agreed on payment terms as “Cash Against Document” and we confirmed our order with them for 80,000 pairs of Chrome Leather Palm Gloves worth USD46256/-. However, they dispatched 88,000 pairs of Chrome Leather Palm Gloves worth USD50864/- and we accepted the bank advice to release the payment and hand us the shipping documents to clear the consignment.
Once the consignment was cleared, the whole 20’container was taken directly to customer premises. However, when the same was opened, on inspection, the goods were found to be totally wrong, instead of Leather Gloves, we received Cotton gloves of very poor quality (Picture attached) which are non-usable due to which the client has rejected the entire consignment. We have tried to contact Mr. Mian Qaiser Mehmood, but all our efforts have gone in vain.
