I  purchased a vacation package from Preferred Guest Resorts about a year ago. I even upgraded it a couple of times when they continued to call to make offers.

Since that time I lost my car in an accident that wasn't my fault, and as a result I lost my job as well. I was forced to move because I had no more income. I've gotten a new job and a vehicle and even a place to live.  I am pretty much back on my feet,  but certainly do not have the time or money to travel due to unforeseeable,  drastic life events. Especially since these wonderful "packages" do not include air fare or transportation.

When I requested a refund I was denied. I ended up being transferred to a quality assurance representative that informed me that packages are not refundable, even partially, after 30 days.  I told him that I hadn't selected any dates,  or even locations. I didn't understand what his company had spent money on for me or why I couldn't have mine back. He iterated that there are no refunds after 30 days.

I tried to explain my situation,  which he had no interest in hearing,  and he reiterated that there are no refunds after 30 days. I asked him if this was even legal,  and he told me that most states require refunds for 3 days,  and he gave me 10 times that long because they offer refunds for 30 days.

He did offer one solution. He, like every person you speak to in this company,  will be happy to take more of your money. For a modest $100 fee you can extend the expiration date of your package. I don't know why they need $100. I guess the interest they have been earning off of my money that they've had for a year and haven't had to spend a dime of hasn't been enough.

Anyway, I'm probably going to continue paying a company for a vacation that I'll never take. Maybe I'll get some paid vacation in the next 12 months,  and maybe I won't.  My point is unless you are going to take a vacation in the next 30 days,  don't use this company. A lot can happen in a year, and this company will not care or help you if your travel budget changes.
