PREMIER FITNESS Ripped me off London, Ontario
I joined Premier Fitness in June 2007 and signed a one year contract. I ended up having a gym membership there for 3 years in total, but did not sign any further contracts or paperwork after my initial one-year membership.
In April 2010, I cancelled my membership in person at the gym as I was moving to the United States and would not be in the country. I was assured that my membership would be cancelled and no further payments would be taken out of my account.
At the end of April 2010, I realized that Premier was still taking payments out of my account despite the fact that I had cancelled the membership and was not even in the country. I contacted the gym to get the number for head-office. I was given a number that only led me to what sounded like a fax line. I called my gym again and was told that I just had to keep calling to get through. I tried this for a few days without reaching anyone. So I called the London, location again this time after sensing my frustration they decided to give me a different number for head office. I then spoke to Manish at the head office who assured me that he would stop the payments immediately, reimburse me, and that this would all happen that day.
The fourth payment has just come out of my bank account. I have not been reimbursed, they are still taking out payments.
I am completely frustrated with this gym, and would never recommend it. I have been given nothing but a run-around from the people who work there, and something as simple as cancelling my membership has turned into a complete headache.
If you are considering going to this gym - don't. I am not the first person I have talked to who has had a horrible experience with them. Ridiculous.
