I was contacted by Sandy Smith over the phone from Prestige Timeshare Marketing. She claimed that they have great success rate selling Timeshares. I own one @ Ellington Wachesaw East in Murrells Inlet, SC which I wanted to sell. I had it with Resorts International Marketing Corp since 09/23/2003. They did nothing to either sell or rent. The day before I had talked to Sandy I was contacted by IBD Marketing to market the sale of my timeshare. Sandy had convinced me that their company was better, etc. I was called by David Harris letting me know he would be working with me to sell my timeshare. He called me in June to let me know he found a buyer and I was very excited. It was supposed to close in Sept. When the day came for closing I didn't hear from anyone so I called and left message. I called again the next day. I finally spoke with David Harris.he said, " The buyer didn't show for the closing. That he had confirmed the closing date & time with them on Wed. and closing was scheduled on Fri. That they would be there. Since they didn't show up he went to where they were staying and he ended up in the middle of a drug raid. That he had a gun pointed at his head and his car was stripped." I thought that was quite a story.

I was also told that they put me back at the top of the list to start marketing my property like highlighting it home shows.

They made me believe that it was in the process of being sold within the three months and then of couse , it didn't. So now I lost the opportunity to get money back. They been dragging me along telling one story after another.

The last time I spoke to anyone.was in April 2008. I asked if they have a buyer yet for my property. There were 2 different couples that shown an interest. Once one them want it .It will take 2 months to go to closing and we will be doing a three way call to be able to transfer the title over to them.

When I didn't hear from them again after making numerous calls. I called my attorney and he said to check the ripoffreport.com website and I did and found others who too have been taken advantage of. I would be great if we all can get our money back.

Contact your credit card company, if you paid with one. File a fraudulent charge with them since Prestige is probably in breach of contract. You may not get your money credited, but it's worth the effort. If that fails, sue Prestige for breach of contract. You should be able to do this is civil court without formal legal representation. Use the Internet for other hints and tips as to how, when, where to file, etc., and GOOD LUCK. They ripped me off too, along with hundreds of other people, some of which lost thousands of dollars!!!! UPDATE: per another posted response on ripoffreport.com, the AGs office for the State of Florida has a trial starting in October against this company/Prestige. I'm not sure if this is 100% accurate, but I intend on contacting the AG for purposes of a lawsuit as well. I'll let you know if I find out any additional information and/or post another report to hopefully give everyone the same opportunity to get our money back.
