Pretrial Intervention Ilegal Tactics/Scare/Scam San Antonio Texas
On 5/19/14 we got a strange & illegal call from "Samantha Hall" of Pretrial Intervention," following the same script that others have reported: "A case has been filed against you. I need to speak to you or your attorney of record, today, immediately. Contact me at 210-762-6589. If I do not hear back from you I will document that you have waived your right to counsel and the case will be filed. Govern yourself accordingly."

We've reported the threatening & vague call to the new federal Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and urge anyone who has the same experience to do the same. (If it's really a once-legitimate debt, it isn't anymore & is not owed). Anyone who purports to be trying to collect a debt must, by federal law, give you notice in writing that includes the name of the original debtor, and how to contact them to dispute it; also, even if you do owe a debt you have the right to request they not contact you anymore. There's a reason these people don't contact you by mail.
Don't be intimidated by these jerks! Fight back any way you can.
