This is the e-mail I sent to their customer service site. I am ashamed that I actually fell for thier BS. They really get you sucked in with the whole "negotiator" is looking for the best deal for you.....you get an additional amount off.....GRRRR....so mad I fell for this.

I cannot believe that I fell for your schtick. Me, a seasoned professional with years and years and years of advertising under my belt. But I did. Hook, line and sinker. So, when traveling on a budget, I opted for your service because certainly they would get me the best deals.

I was shocked to find out that when I checked in, the advertised rate for this hotel was $39.99! Double occupancy, which I needed was quoted to me as $45.99 for the night. BUT I PAID $71 to Priceline -- because some high-paid "negotiator" has been actor really conned me. Of course, thinking a reputable company with tier one advertising would NEVER screw me over, I paid Priceline $71!!!! And, the clerk was helpless to do anything to help me with the rate. So, at 1 a.m., with three small children ready to not be in the car for another 6 hours, I checked in to my prepaid room right after the prostitute who got a room right before me. For the next 6 hours I wondered which bothered me more...being completely sucked in to Priceline's false claims or the fact that I went ahead and stayed in a motel where illegal activities abounded. The only good thing about the experience was that the room was relatively clean. And, I have to believe, for the sake of not wanted to dip myself in lye, that the sheets had been changed.

I will NEVER EVER EVER again use Priceline. I will also tell everyone I know the same. What a scam you have going.

I've read quite a few of these reports, but this one takes the cake. I understand that Priceline appeals to those traveling on a budget, or to anyone traveling in general. But what I don't understand is how anyone can feel ripped off by a website that is completely up front about their shortfalls. Take some responsibility as an intelligent, savvy adult, do a little research, READ, and think for yourself. Priceline doesn't guarantee the lowest price and they are completely up front about the no refund policy and the fact that they will not allow you to specifically choose which hotel/airline/whatever you are bidding on. I have used Priceline many times, both for airline tickets and hotels, (having READ the fine print and done a touch of homework) and have had shining results. I have also recommended the site to friends that I know can handle the burden of being responsible for themselves and their decisions and they too have been delighted with their results. Finally, if you don't want to stay in a crappy hotel choose a higher star level. If you've stayed in a bad hotel before you should have learned your lesson. Is it Ebay's fault when you overpay for a stereo that turns out to be a knock-off? Quit playing pass the buck, stop whining, and learn from your many mistakes.

I am sorry you had to learn the hard way. Unfortunaetly you have learned the hard way with Priceline. However, do not beat yourself up to much. I know it is frustrating, but least you did not learn to the tune of several thousand bucks like some people on this site have. A quick story if I may , which might make you chuckle. Twenty seven years ago on my honeymoon my husband and I stayed at a motel in Florida after taking a 3 day cruise to the Bahamas. Well we could not figure out why every half hour we heard the door close and a "Thank you". It took about four times of this for us to realize a prostitue was next door! lol Not only that as we were checking out we discovered they were also making a movie in the room! Can we say "EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWE" lol It did not take long to figure out what we had walked into . We quickly checked out and sought a little higher class motel. lol So, no more beating yourself up, I've done it too! lol Cat
