I am sorry to hear that the price changed for you but there may be a reason for it. First of all those prices are subject to change daily....hourly even. I have in the past quoted a Travel Agent one price only to get her back 3 hours later and the price has gone up. It's all based on supply and demand for those prices. The price that you got as well, may have been a sale that was due to end on the day you called. Another reason is that the travel company you may have chosen to go with has a group on the sailing and that is what there group rate is. Even if there is a lower price when you called in as a Direct Passenger, the system will pull up what is that company's rates. What I would suggest doing in the future is call us directly and make the reservation in your name with the rate that you get from Princess. Put it on a complimentary hold and DO NOT put any money on it. Have the Princess agent note on your booking that is ok for your travel agency to take over the booking. That way you are locked in on that rate that you already have. Have your agency call and put themselves on the booking. In many cases they as an agency has a lower rate, but in some cases they do not. This will save you a headache in the future. I had many many people do this, for various reasons and it always seemed to work. If you had already booked the reservation with your agency and the Princess rep quoted you rates, that was their mistake as it is policy to not discuss any financial information with you the passenger directly if you have any travel agency on the booking. I am sorry that you lost that rate though!
