Being an insurance agent, I can tell you that changing your zip code can most definitely change your rate, and depending on where you go, by quite a bit as well. Unless you are an actuary, don't start with where you live is better than where you were. I hear this as least 1 time every day. There are SO MANY factors that determine insurance rates in that area. You could have the smallest town in the world, but ONE (yes ONE) big accident/claim can change the rates for everyone in that area. You want cheap insurance? Move to Virginia or Iowa.
