Project Oz Adoptions A 9 month process took us 22 months Tarboro North Carolina
I used this agency to adopt my son from Guatemala. When we started the process we were told to expetc it to take 5 - 9 months. It took us 22 months to bring our son home.
The agency had a lot of staff come and go in that time. We had three different Guatemalan facilitators. We were not always given accurate information about what was happening and it was usually blamed on the facilitators and lawyers in Guatemala who "don't pass on that information".
Towards the very end of our process it became very difficult to speak to anyone at the agency. Their Maryland office closed, more staff left, and the only number available was a toll free number where a woman answered the phone, took messages, and emailed them to the coordinator. We could not directly reach the coordinator at any time and she would often take dasy to respond to emails or messages.
