Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

What a JOKE this company is. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this sham of a company. I seriously cannot recommend enough that you do not use them. Protect a Tot was referred to my family by a friend who knows David. After playing phone tag for a few days, they finally called to set up an appointment with me. They NEVER answer their phone and always call back from a blocked number. This should have been my first clue.

The woman advised me it was $35 cash charge (hello second clue...cash only?) for the consultation and at the end of the consultation we would receive an itemized estimate for work that they recommended we have done.

David was about 20 minutes late for our appointment, which was Friday, May 6th. When he finally got here, he walked around our house and pointed out what he would do to make our house safe for our 8 month old daughter. He seemed to know what he was talking about and we expressed to him that we wanted this work done immediately, since our daughter had just learned to crawl and she was getting curious. Upon collecting his $35 CASH fee, he told us that his QuickBooks was down, but he was going to handwrite the estimate and email it to me that night. (By the way... at this point I gave all his information to a friend of mine also in need of baby proofing...her consult was a few days after mine and he didn't charge her a dime. Why did I get charged but she didn't?)

Well, I never got anything that night. Or the next. Or the next week. OR the week after that. (Neither did my girlfriend, if you're wondering.) And now the date is May 31st and I STILL have nothing from Protect a Tot! Almost 4 weeks later and not even a courtesy phone call or anything. I called several times, but as mentioned earlier... they don't answer the phone. Emails were sent to David, and they remain unanswered. I texted his cell phone... and no response.

May 23rd he finally answered my texts and sent me a picture of his garden claiming that the sprinkler system cut his power line. Come on dude, seriously? This guy is full of excuses and I am going to do everything I can to make sure other families don't get taken advantage of by this scammer. By the way... this seems to be the norm for Protect a Tot as I posted something in a local moms group online and multiple people commented back saying they experienced the same thing. Save your $35 and your sanity and go another route.
