You certainly are entitled to a refund of monies paid for future services, but not the services you have already used. I don't know what plans they have, but let's say you paid in advance up to March 2008, you're entitled to a refund of the advanced fees from the date that they closed the facility. Since you're around the corner so to speak, go to the NYS Attorney General website and file an on line complaint. ****It is very important that you make a written demand for any refund you think you're entitled to. Simply making a complaint or filing a civil suit isn't going to help you unless you make a demand for a refund. The AG office and small claims will ask you if you did - if you didn't, they will tell you to come back after you do. You should send a written demand for a refund to their Corporate HQ and send it certified, return receipt requested. I would give them 10 busines days (2 weeks) to provide your refund. If no refund is forthcoming, file a complaint with the AF, the FTC and take a drive to downtown Buffalo and file a small claims against them and the OWNER. Good luck.

Don't try making me feel bad ... I'm sorry you lost your job and all but that's not MY RESPONSIBILITY. I have almost $1000 in bars and weeks coming to me that I will probably NEVER SEE... I have a right to complain about LA Weight Loss. They are SCAM ARTISTS and should be SUED!!!

I just lost my job from Pure. Please trust me when I tell you no one knew the company was closing except the owner himself. I am totally sick for the people who just signed up. It saddens me that the owners continued to let people sign up when they must have seen the writing on the wall. And even up until the last minute, he used his employees as a pawn in his evil empire to squeeze the last few cents he could out of people. It is sickening.

I think they were completely wrong to let you sign up when they probably knew they were closing. You should definitely get at least most of your $400+ back. They should have at least had a notice on the door informing people of the closure (because I believe it's a chain, unless the whole chain is going under, but I'm not familiar with how these fitness centers work) so they'd stop in their tracks. Good luck with getting your money back.

I am an ex employee of this company and it makes me sick this happened to you. Believe me, the counselor probably didn't know it was going to happen. Some advice: Go to your local news and tell them. This owner is going to try and open up a new business that is more beauty under a different name and is going to run from all of this. Get your money back by telling them you are going to the media, suing, calling the Better Business Bureau etc. Vahan Karian is the owner, John Bortz in Customer Service can also help. Speak to them, email them, write them and go to your news media. It's the only way we can stop him. He's using your money to live it up in mansions and opening up a new business!
