After reading this ex employee sticking up for Regionals and Divisionals, I had to laugh! I am also an ex employee and whether Jennie Wright, Jessica Harley and Veronica Santereli in Los Angeles knew or not I am sure they are doing fine. They were all making well into the six figures so don't feel too sorry for them! Anon California

I worked for LA Weightloss two years ago and was let go for ridiculous reasons. This past September, I was contacted by the new Regional Manager for the CT Market to come back to work for the company. I began my re-employment as a Center Manager with the new Pure Weightloss on October 1st. By the 15th of the month it was clear that this company was in dire straits so I went on to look else where. On December 7th my staff was "let go" to make room for other employees with seniority in centers that were closing on December 8th. I then received phone calls from clients saying that the new staff was telling them that we were let go for "poor weightloss results"! I had already given my notice that I was leaving the company. Then the following week I got a call from my "replacement" manager that the company was going belly up on January 4th of 2008. I feel so horrible for my clients. The reason we get into this industry is because of our desire to help our clients lose weight. The money that clients spend is just a very small portion of the program for most of them. It is the opportunity to receive support and motivation and cheers up to three times per week. The program really does work, it's not rocket science but to take away the counseling part of the program is sinful. I highly advise any and all clients to dispute any charges they have with their credit card companies or GE Care Credit since they are not going to receive their promised (contracted) guarantees or their products. From the bottom of my heart, I can tell clients that all of us at the center level had no idea that Pure Weightloss was going belly up. Please, if you have the tools that you need, don't let the lack of support hinder your success. Find a support network locally and reach your goals! You have a great foundation to work with. As for Vaughn Karian and Elaine Bussoletti and other higher ups, I can only hope that this was worth it to you. To destroy the dreams of these clients as well as letting 100's of employees go just weeks before Xmas... you're disgusting! I pray that Karma works quickly!

After speaking with other employees, there are people out there that think that our supervisors in LA in LA/PURE KNEW that the company was going to buckle and did nothing to warn us. People think that instead they kept having us sign people up and sell sell sell. THIS IS NOT TRUE. I happen to know for a fact that our Regionals and Areas did not know. First, all of the AREAS got FIRED, so they didn't know. They fired the areas and said their position was gone. Jessica Harley, my regional manager who we all loved tried to stay but left probably because she couldn't take it anymore. There is no way she knew. She left because she trained all of us to be ethical and the company didn't like it. Veronica left because she too couldn't do the things they wanted her to do. She was always trying to help and she stayed until the end. Maybe Jenny W knew and didn't tell anyone but the other girls didn't. THEY GOT JUST AS SCREWED AS WE DID AND JUST AS SCREWED AS THE CLIENTS. I KNOW THESE GIRLS AND THEY DIDNT KNOW. ex employee bummed and out of work

Pure Weight Loss will close its doors throughout the United States officially on January 4th, 2008.. The company has been in dire straits since the 20/20 report was shown to the general public earlier this year. Changing the name from LA Weight Loss to Pure Weight loss on August 6th, 2007 did not achieve any increased revenue or additional clientele for the CEO and his business became a "sinking ship". Well, the Titanic sinks to the bottom of the ocean in January 2008 but alas, I jumped off and swam for my life back to shore after staff were told via teleconference December 12th, 2007 that the CEO intends to shut down every center. Mr Karian (CEO) has obviously walked away with a nice little sum of money in his back pocket and left both his customers and staff in total dissaray and bewilderment. Even though I worked for you (Mr Karian) for 12 months, I must say to you that you NEVER communicated with your staff either verbally or via email. You have been a total coward through your lack of communication, you seemed to avoid the email section on your computer and as CEO you should be totally ashamed of yourself. It has been a total ordeal for the majority of your staff from the beginning. Merry Christmas Mr Karian, I hope Santa brings you everything you deserve!!
