Never once did I mention not being employed nor do I seek assistance from the government. Please educate yourself. I relocated to Dallas as a battered wife and my vehicle got recked. Before my funds would arrive, I seeked assistance so that I would not get evicted for being 1 month late. Placing 9500.00 on my credit report because I'm black is extreme. No damages, nothing however this has hendered me from purchasing a home. I pay now well over 1350.00 per month and make more than 70000.00 a year. I'm black and educated and unethical behavior must stop. So keep your bias comments to yourself because I pay my bills and hardships do NOT have a time place nor race. So whichever property of quality estates that you work for. Im on that a**! I will put a stop to your prejudice a**es.

Stop being so heartless.. No one is immune from hard times. Job loss is sometimes a fact of life. It happens. For a company to deny a payment from a charity to help someone in need, and then threaten to put them out is unamerican. It's cruel and doesn't make sense. Money is money. What reason could a company give for denying a charity payment? Except that they are a cruel company or the leasing office manager has a vendetta?
The person may be working OR looking for a job. I honestly have never heard of a company refusing a payment from a charity to help a person avoid homelessness. I don't know you or the person who wrote this but I have to say I will forever avoid this apartment complex and everyone else should too. Really sounds like they have shitty mgmt.
Last, your response was just callous. You seem heartless. Very heartless. What would you do if suddenly you lost a job and got very ill or had several calamities befall you where you had to take charity? Your words will come back to haunt you.
Shame on you and this awful apartment community you're taking up for.

A standard lease agreement states that it does not matter if you lose your job, you are responsible for paying rent. They are under no obligation to accept any form of govt handouts. That is your problem, not theirs. It shows how selfish you are that you think that everyone should bend to you. Stop taking handouts and get a job

I, too, have encountered a lot of thuggish behavior out here in Texas regarding the Apartment communities and businesses in general. What most folks fail to understand when they are hearing about all the folks moving to Texas because of Jobs is this.. The companies are all coming to Texas because the Republicans have written the laws in such a manner that ordinary consumers have virtually no recourse when a business exploits them or engages in deceptive or fraudulent behavior.
I use to live in an apartment complex in a pretty rough neighborhood here. Actually I lived in two different ones. The apartments ran about $399.00 on up with $399.99 being the cost of the Efficiency. The management office would routinely charge people several hundred dollars when they were late on their rate several days when the law clearly says that the late fee cannot be so high that it "imposes a penalty" and that it can only be used to recoup loss monies by the office for the late rent.
However, the Republicans wrote the law so that an apartment can just say what they loss and not prove it. For instance if the apartment community sent a certified letter they can charge for the cost of the letter but the apartment wasn't doing that. They would leave one or two notes on the door. Yet they charged $100 for the first day late and $25 each day after so that if you paid your rent a week late you are looking at about $250 to $300 dollars. An obscene amount.
I was actually standing in my living room one day right out the shower when the maintenance just unlocked my door and walked in. They did not knock or anything. They're were so many people complaining about this obviously illegal entry.
Also, in one of the apartments I broke my lease one month before it was to terminate because of a family emergency out of state and I moved. I notified the office of what was going on with me. In the state of Texas the Republicans again wrote the law so that the apartment community was able to scalp me. Then the apartment community gave my balance to a local collection agency who started calling my elderly out of state parents to harrass them all times of the day and night even though I had not lived at home for about 15 years. They took their numbers from the emergency contact number on my application.
The Texas Attorney General is a joke in my opinion. His office does nothing. He is one of them. He protects the rich and powerful. The little man can go to hell. These companies all know that the average attorney in Texas charges obscene prices. I mean, truly obscene. For any little thing. There is no such thing as a "reasonable attorney". They will all want to do as little work for as much money as possible. Even writing a one page letter will cost you $1000.00. Even if it takes less than one hour. The lawyers out here are ridiculous.
As I stated before, Texas is a place the CROOKS come to legally set up SHOP. The poor and the abused have no recourse. You should NEVER vote REPUBLICAN. Those Jacka**es are the reason why the little people have NO RIGHTS.
