Quality Auto Painting And Body Center Beware!! This body shop creates more damage and pays off appraisers and does not fix cars properly Bronx New York
I worked for this company for way too many years and have seen some of the illegal things that have been done to unsuspecting customers. Richard, the owner himself, will "set up" (creating more damage)customer's car to get paid more to fix these cars. That isn't all he does, he also pays off most insurance appraisers or he doctors up the estimates that go to insurance companies.
He also has a bunch of insurance broker's that he pays a commission to so that they force their clients to have their cars repaired by him.
He practically forces the customer to sign a direction to pay so that insurance companies will pay him directly. He also has them sign a power of attorney so that in the event the check comes in a customer's name he can endorse it and cash it.
He also prefers to be paid in cash, so that he doesn't have to pay alot of sales tax. Every quarter he and I would sit and re-write repair orders so that it would show that most of his business is wholesale, when it is actually retail.
If he is paid to replace a part with an OEM, he will repair it if possible. Otherwise, he will replace it with used or aftermarket. For those who don't know what aftermarket parts are, they are generic inferior parts that just barely meet industry standards. Most of the time the don't fit right and have to adjusted to fit.
When you meet him, he seems like a great honest guy, but beware. He is a shrewd businessman. He expects his employees to work 6 days a week and 10 hours a day. He doesn't provide A/c in the summer or heat in the winter. Come Fridays when it is time to pay his employees, he will make them wait a good 2 -3 hours after they finished work to get paid.
Beware!!! If your insurance broker or company tells you to have your car repaired there, tell them no. By Law no insurance company or broker can steer you into a particular bodyshop. They can only recommend.
