THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE UGLY: I worked at Quicken Loans as a banker, which is really a broker with less responsibilites. I was provided a sales training that you can't get anywhere else. The RVP is a guy named Mark Mazey, and he is one of the best sales trainers you could be lucky enough to meet. There are some other decent sales trainers there, James Wade is one of them. Jeff Perry, the Vice president of the building doesn't do a whole lot other than worry, eavesdrop and get paid. The building used to be full of this positive energy that could really fuel you into a selling blitz. There are some decent perks, as there should be. You can win things. That is the good. Here is the bad: Quicken is a broker, not a direct lender, that is completely in bed with the sinking ship known as Countrywide. The people who work there, that I mentioned above, have never worked anywhere else in the business, and they could learn alot by trying. As good of salespeople they may or may not be, they have brainwashed themselves into believing that their job is more inportant than their families. They neglect their children and wives to the point of divorce, and pretend their salary is worth it. It is not. I don't care how much you make. I've seen some directors, married, making out with other chicks infront of the workers. I have seen directors with kids without a picture of their kid anywhere to be seen. It is clear to most everyone now that they don't mind working 80 hours because it's better than going home to the mess that their infidelity and lack of integrity and family values has turned "home" into. They may know how to get your deposit, but they don't know a f***ing thing about what it takes to be a man, and they don't give a d**n about how they are viewed through their kids' eyes (when those eyes actually see them). Here's the ugly: The VP and a director went on a trip to Puerto Rico with the top achieving bankers and coaches. As soon as they got there, they set up a trip to this little island to pick up an ounce of uncut cocaine, and brought it back to the hotel room. Keep in mind they are putting a million dollar, and a quartermillion dollar salary on the line infront of some bankers (with camera and voice recording phones) that they don't know as well as they think they do. So they bust out the blow, and these guys don't get to sniff s**t this good in Cleveland, and two of the bankers OVERDOSE within the next twenty four hours. The Puerto Rican ambulance has to come right up by the pool to pick up the mess, amidst the lot of trip winners (or losers). One of the directors blowing coke later tried making out with another bankers girlfriend outside the Ironwood Cafe at an afterparty, open to the public, infront of the public. The sad part was watching Jeff Perry at work walk up to some struggling bankers at tell them to get selling, and then immediately walk past the kid who OD'd on the trip AS HE WAS SLEEPING ON HIS KEYBOARD. That same kid crashed his car a few months later as a result of partying, and went into a coma. If he could have been offered a helping hand or some guidance, instead of another line of coke, maybe none of that would have happened. When those managers walk around bug eyed at 7PM, saying "I feel like I just woke up!!!", you can account that to the pile of coke in their desk drawer.

I've seen it all! Lorain, Ohio

Wow! Now this is a way to run a company. How on earth will any of the management go any where to apply for a job when quicken loan shuts it's doors? which is coming based on the wrost real estate market since 1970. I bet the coke is nolonger uncut now? with the market so bad, they may have changed over to crack. get your pipes boys, because you will soon be out of work if the old mortgage business pass these new laws to change it so crooks can no longer exsit in the business. also i bet the cost to defend all the law suits against them - has to draining the pockets. you can keep being a billionaire if your boys keep you spending it dan.

That this would happen and these people would still have jobs. I left the company on my own with no regrets and knew what I ws getting in to. How did they travel by boat to buy uncut blow?????? They are not Columbian Drug Lords, how did they find out about this place. Sounds like a crazy story oh well! If the story is true then no wonder they are one of the top places in country to work for, free uncut blow in Puerto Rico, maybe I'll apply again.....LOL!!!

You make a great point. They never even mentioned to the banker who overdosed to get some help with his problem. Cocaine is not viewed as a problem at Quicken. It helps bankers work longer hours, get by on less sleep, and makes them oblivious to screwing customers. A new ISM should be "hard work is ok, but Cocaine abuse is worshipped." That story about the cocaine in Puerto Rico is very disturbing. These guys go on a great trip as a reward and the first thing they can think about is toasting brain cells. What a s*&*& company! Gilbert knows this goes on but keeps telling the public what a great company he is running.
