Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
Yes, I am one of the suckers QuickenLoans took my $500 from even though it was never written or verbally explained that I will lose my "Good Faith Deposit" should I cancel the deal. After a month of working on a refinance all I kept hearing is that you are approved, Congratulations, blah, blah blah. I was constantly sent new updated documents that changed almost weekly. I was strong armed into making a "Good faith Deposit" so they would not waste there time trying to get me a good rate. Oddly enough I was told I had to use an appraiser of their choosing but according to them there was no affiliation. This is when things started getting frustrating. After waiting 2 weeks for the appraisal number to come in I saw a new document on the MYQL website showing a HUD disclosure of my home value. Wasn't I shocked when the appraised value was roughly $40, 000 less then the actual value. I called to speak to my mortgage banker Moe and he played dumb, what disclosure? I haven't seen this, call your customer care specialist, Jeremy. They must take acting classes because I got the same from him, what disclosure? I will have to look into this. After waiting a few days and doing some research I find that I am going to get screwed out of my "Good Faith Deposit". I immediately contacted Jeremy and told him I knew I was not going to be approved and I wanted my deposit back. It's funny because I specifically told the mortgage banker I did not want to spend any out of pocket monies to do the refinance. Of course I got the lip service and I was assured I would not have to spend any money because my deposit would be returned if no deal or the deposit would be applied at closing. The hook was set from the get go. Needless to say, when I said I wanted to stop all proceedings and I wanted my money back I was treated like I had the plague and was told the Solutions Director would call me to work on another deal. I told them I knew all about their antics from what I read on the web. Same M O. Lure you in, take your money, low ball your appraisal and say sorry we can't do business. This arrogant jerk Nick Borunda calls me and tells me that I should not believe everything I read on the web because they are posts from angry ex customers and that they are the #1 internet mortgage sales company and that I was misinformed. Misinformed? At that moment I told him no hard feelings and to send me my deposit. Wow, the next statement sent me into a frenzy as he kept trying to talk over me and speaking down to me like I was trash. What a nice feeling! He told me, "okay, you gave us $400, and I interrupted and said, no I gave you $500 on a "Good Faith Deposit". He then told me the appraisal is being paid by me and that cost $400 and the other $100 goes toward paperwork they had to file". Unfreaking believable! Exactly like what I read on the web. Just to be clear, I have good credit, not great, but good. My debt to income is a little high but we did not list my wife's income so it was not a complete accurate picture as we were looking to get a lower interest rate and pay off a car loan to boot. This has all caused unnecessary stress and now I am out $500 with a baby due in less than four weeks along with a six year old and a toddler. I explained all of this to the 3 A-holes with Quicken Loans...no conscience. They do not and did not care. They got their money and I got nothing. I am going to have my house appraised again just to prove that this is a scam. They absolutely had no intention of approving my loan as I am on an FHA and treated like trash. I am sorry I ever contacted this company. I should have done some research first and I would still have my money which I can not afford to flush down the toilet into their pockets. High pressure sales to get the deposit but no mention that you will never see your money again. I guess I am the fool, but my fight is not over. I am praying that one day there is a class action lawsuit and I can be the one that feels justified. I know in my heart that Quicken loans did not use a 3rd party unbiased appraisal company. Now I am just waiting on a copy of my appraisal and a copy of the bill of what they charged Quicken Loans for their service. I also asked for an itemized bill of where my money went. Nothing but crickets and night noise now but legally I paid for all of this and they need to provide this to me. That's my story and as sure as I am sitting here this is the God's honest truth. These guys are bad news and will soon separate more fools and their money. Please, please, if you read this before doing business with these people follow your head and use a reputable company to get your mortgage elsewhere.
