The ongoing campaign by Quik Trip, State Treasurer Scott Meacham and the Tulsa World Newspaper to brand the small independent tribal smoke shops as lawbreakers is completely erroneous.

We are small, independent businesspeople operating under the laws of the tribes who have chosen to license out business on Indian Land.

We are being used as whipping boys by the person who created this situation, but he had done nothing to clean up the mess. This is Meacham's mess, and it is being used as a market grab by Quik Trip Stores.

Our shops are not located in what would traditionally be called high-traffic areas on the busiest intersections of cities like Quik Trip Stores. Even with the disadvantage, we have carved out a market, and now Quik Trip (the backers of ku klux klan racist hate groups such as onenationok.com) is complaining and attempting to use its political muscle to finally push our small smoke shops out of business, and take over the share of the market.

But right now, Quik Trip claims their cigarette sales are declining, so they dispatch their highly paid lobbyists and frontman to scream, yell and create controversy.

Meacham and Quik Trip are trying to exploit the situation again! And yes, we do believe they are trying to run our shops out of business, so they can control the market, and if you think tobacco prices are high now, get ready for huge price increases if Quik Trip is successful in their latest ploy to take tribal smoke shops out of the marketplace.

We did not create this situation, and our small smoke shops should not be run out of business because of a situation created Meacham where there are now at least seven different tax rates for tobacco products sold in Oklahoma.

We are small businesses, and we do not deserve to be run out of business because a privately owned giant (Quik Trip Stores, Tulsa, OK) is racist against Indians, has financed racist web sites against Native Americans, and can convince a politician that they deserve our markets.

If you are a minority I urge you to email Quik Trip and the Tulsa World to voice your opinion. We will not be the victims of racism. It needs to stop now!

BOYCOTT QUIK TRIP AND THE TULSA WORLD. YOU CAN GET YOUR NEWS FROM TELEVISION AND ONLINE. DON'T BUY GAS, CIGARETTES OR ANYTHING FROM QUIK TRIP. WE CAN SHOW THEM HOW MUCH OF THEIR MARKET IS MINORITIES BY SHOPPING ELSEWHERE.

Forward this email to all American Indians, African Americans, Latinos, Asians and other minorities, as well as our other friends who support us, and we can let Quik Trip know that we will not be victims of their racist campaigns.

Mark, I do not have a racist bone in my body, but I do not think that tribes should be able to offer products like that to the general public without following the same laws as the general public including taxation. Now, I have to admit I am not all to familiar with the subject you are talking about, but I do not agree that tribes should be able to do a lot of things they are doing. I have a lot of respect for the tribes of the nation and their history but at what point do we stop.. 1 , 3/4 , 1/2 , 1/4 , 1/16th? I mean common, Germany is not giving me any benefits and I am almost 1/2.. I have to pay taxes on my vehicle plates, for the roads, for everything. I think tribes get enough break and heck in my eyes if you are 1/16th pity you... nothing! what point will it stop? you already offer casinos they will get bigger and bigger.... heck the only gambling that was widely available in Oklahoma to the general public "besides tribal casinos" was horse racing that I know of... now at least we have a state lottery and that is only this year.. want more of a following.. have the tribes lobby to offer things like movie theaters.. shopping.. forget about the things that may possibly ruin society or its health.. if you offer them..I think you should have to play like the rest of us... I also went to the web site.. where are the racist comments? I see nothing about black, mexican... maybe I over looked something.. all I saw is they want equal rights for all.. there is nothing wrong with that in my eyes. I see no rip off here
