OMG. I was standing at the gas pump. Never moved an inch. Pumping gas. How HARD can that me right? I had my hand on the lever the whole time.  I noticed the price was steeper than I had ever done...It never shut off.and WOULD NOT shut off. It was a nightmare..right out of a horror movie. Push the button to get an attendant NO response.

The SILVER lever was stuck in. I finally got my finger to get in disengaged and shut off. Gas was all over my shoes, clothes,  my new tire and my Cadillac. Push the button to get an attendant NO response. Pushed the button again....asked for a spill cleanup.. THAT was a JOKE.

They finally sent a girl with a tiny like 24 oz hand spray bottle of degreaser and a rag. TO clean up a spill??? I've covered in gasoline...from the pump that would not shut off, so are my shoes, my car and the new tire. I told them I did not want to pay for the gas that did not go in to the car...they asked and I told them exactly how much.....and unbelievably...the girl said the manager said since they had no idea (ignoring my response) they would give me ten bucks is that ok?

I said "NO  that is not ok". They never offered to clean the car, the spill or attend to my throbbing finger used to pry off the stuck lever.

I went home with throbbing hand, cleaned the car (which smelled like gas) as best I could. I tiook out the mats, cleaned and sprayed them. Kept the car outside the hanger until; it was clean as I could get it. I called Florida department of Agriculture, and RACETRAC. I wrote an official report within two hours, as best I could with my throbbing hand.

I noticed FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE WAS JUST THERE DAYS BEFORE, inspecting the pump. I called them and reported the faulty pump.

I was ticked because:

1) My finger hurt like heck...it was throbbing.
2) I asked for 16 dollars in extra gas and they gave me ten. Seriously.
3) I expected more of a clean up. OMG. 
4) They did NOTHING...my clothes were saturated, my new leather shows were saturated, it was a mess..they did not clean up..never answered the distress callbutton promptly, and did not bither to check the pump. Manager was not going to be bothered.

Update: Florida Department of Weights did check the pump a little over week later. They called me. They said the pump (nozzle )or whatever dispenses the gas...had been replaced on the pumps on that side. 

I drove to the gas station sure enough..the nozzles on #24  was new...and a different color lever. Remember my report noted a SILVER lever. These are thicker and more golden.

The kicker? The female manager LIED about replacing the Ohio Pattern Works pump nozzle..and wanted to wordsmith about it. MY pump was #24.

Racetrac changed the one on the same side (#22 I guess), but (at the time of this writing) pump 21 had the older nozzle with silver lever). I took phtos of the levers on #21 (old stule) and #24 replaced.

This is not a reputable firm. They have inadequate clean up. They do not treat customers right. I was concerned not only with a spill, me, my car, but the faulty pump. They were concerned with cover up. And lying. They are still lying to this day about not changing the nozzle...but duh..I have photos and the State employee made a report...and it was the same employee who knows nozzles. I am not sure what the big deal is about LYING. Seriously? 

Risk Management and Corporate Management did an inadequate investigation and were not helpful. The local station MANAGER is LYING. Take that to the bank. I have proof of the new nozzle. I don't understand the need to lie...or the thought process behind paying ten dollars instead of sixteen dollars.  They in Belleview and at Corporate are small minded. Disreputable. Unfriendly. Unhelpful. Not customer focused.
