Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
If you think shopping at Radio Shack is bad , than I suggest you never go to work for them. Now my story is strange, but give it a listen. So we start at the normal day for me a 6-7 hour shift at Radio Shack and all seems to be going well Until! Ok I am in the back of the office when I over hear a loud voice and a fellow employee not at all talking in a manner people normally do in public, unless something is wrong.

As I approach the front I notice an older gentleman straight giving the employee the business not to mention the employee is a female and this man is really being outrageously rude ,so I being up for promotion in a week or two ,decide that she could help someone else and I could get this man settled down or at least attempt to satisfy him. Little did I know I had just signed my release papers.

Over a 3$ at cost and 20$ retail value watch this man demands we give him a new.one or else .The thing was that he had come in before in December and cussed out the store manager at that time over the same type of watch .He upset the store manager so.bad that he just gave em the watch at no charge to get the guy out of there well in GIVING him that watch there was no warranty on the watch and for some reason the customer thought he had a warranty which he did not .

Ok people u can't replace what is not there so without the warranty the only option is to buy a new watch with.the warranty I mean that's just it if every time a pissed off customer came in and I just gave them what they wanted I'd been fired a long time ago at that time when I gave him the option he abruptly told me that wasn't going to work as I spill into the sir I'm sorry for the inconvenience he begins to tell me he would come.

behind the counter and beat my butt , but way less nicer than that as I'm walking out from behind the counter he is walking towards me yelling and fussing as I'm walking backwards he approaches me in a manner that I began to feel intimidated I finally after trying to calm the situation down tell him to leave and when I did I lit the fuse he told me he wasn't leaving and came towards me violently in a rush as I told him to stop

next thing u know we r on the floor wrestling around like two school kids so we finally get torn apart from each other as witnesses there was my other employee and another customer who saw the whole thing the police were called and in the police report it is stated plainly that I acted in self defense .So by my report ,another employee report ,a customer report ,and the police report I acted in self defense how much.clearer can.it b .

I was suspended with pay for 3 or so.days and told they had to let me go for poor customer service .So I ask u this all those who work put yourself in my shoes was I supposed to let him beat me or what because the situation happened so fast I never even had time to get angry or call for.help or nothing but I did protect the property perform my tasks they hired me for but never in the job description did I see whooping boy

So Screw Radio Shack and all it stands for.cause it will not stand behind you in your time of need they will treat u as if u never gave them a d*mn thing cause on the contrary I gave them my best top in sales always there on time never called in dependable outstanding employee and one ignorant man cost me everything and Radio Shack could care less .It may sound like I'm whining I am far from it I'm pissed off and I want people to know THE.CUSTOMER IS NOT ALWAYS RIGHT

THANKS sincerely yours screw radio shack

I'm sorry that happened, but it sounds like you mishandled an angry customer to me. That is a terminable offense at Radio Shack. As soon as someone threatens violence toward you in retail you call the police or have someone else call. So a customer says "I'm going to beat you up." You respond with "I feel that you just threatened me, I'm calling the police to help us mediate this." If you are behind the counter stay there. If the customer comes behind the counter then prepare to defend yourself. Escape if you can, either backroom or out the front door whichever is easier. If you are grappled before you can escape then you have the right to defend yourself. If you have the chance to escape and continue attacking instead you can face assault charges. Under the circumstances I feel Radio Shack was justified in terminating your employment. Ultimately the store manager has the final say on these kinds of circumstances. If the manager refused to give product away to appease a customer then let the manager deal with the consequences of that too.
