I purchased this package to RPR for my honeymoon. Little did I know at the time what a scam it was!!

I finished booking the vacation and paying the remaining balance on January 19, 2004 and over the weekend discovered on the internet that I had been completely lied to about our "upgrade" package that we purchased. I was told we were being "upgraded" to a Sheraton hotel however the hotel in question had been bought by La Quinta Inn and could be purchased by someone off the street for a mere $49/night. I called them back Monday and confronted them with their lie and I was only sheepishly offered Amerihost resorts as a substitute. I was disgusted! I began doing my research on them and found out on the internet that they were fraudulent. I also discovered that this "bargain" of a trip was totally overinflated, despite being told that it was a $2800 value. Yeah right...more like a $900 value?!? I was sick to my stomach as I have paid a total of $1700 for me and my fiance'.

I called numerous times to cancel the trip. The first call I was told my credit card would be reimbursed. Then the charge posted to my card 2 days later. On the second call I was told I would only be reimbursed $300, and when I pitched a fit about it and demanded to speak with a supervisor, the supervisor yelled and screamed at me and was so incredibly rude I hung up on her.

I have filed a complaint with FL consumer services, and was planning on disputing the recent charge to my credit card, however my credit card company told me that in order to have an effective case I would need a receipt of cancellation from RPR. Well guess what...RPR told me that "they don't give receipts of cancellation". I again demanded a receipt and received nothing but rude treatment. What is the problem with a company giving you a written statement of your cancellation of a trip IF THEY ARE LEGIT???

I am filing with every person I know to file with to make sure I get my full $1,700 back as I am sick of dealing with a less than reputable company, being lied to at every turn, and not to mention being treated like slop when I call customer service.

If you can help me, I ask you to please try. I don't have $1,700 to throw away!

I just wanted to say thanks to rip-off report. I received a vacation voucher in the mail from Ramada Plaza Resorts. I first bought into it but wanted to check it out. I did a search and rip-off report came up. Had it not been for this site I probably would have been ripped off to. Thanks Again,
