After a long description of a seven-night, eight day travel package, during which, among other lies, I was told I'd have an ocean-facing room in a beachfront luxury resort, an exterior cabin on the Empress Majesty ship with a porthole/window, an arrival date of 3/29/08 in Ft. Lauderdale and a departure date out of Orlando on April 6, etc., I agreed to pay $898. It was a hard-pressure sell because I was told I couldn't think about it and call back later; it had to be paid right then and there. After the call, I researched the package and read literally hundreds of recent complaints about the company, the hotel properties, etc. It was frightening.

Also, I had been told by Alan Harrold that I could book the trip immediately by calling the customer service number he'd provided. That wasn't true. I called every day, twice a day, and they did not have my information until OVER 72 hours after I'd made the payment. Also, the promised dates were unavailable, the ship cabin was NOT an exterior, the "luxury resorts" were apparently 3-star hotels, etc. I tried numerous times from Tuesday 1/29/08 to Saturday 2/2/08 to cancel, but no one was willing to help me, I was transferred from person to person, including a Johnny Owen, a Teresa, and David in Sales finally said no refunds in California, period.

That's when I decided to take action. Florida should NOT allow a business like this with hundreds of lawsuits and consumer complaints to stay in business, and the Postmaster General should NOT allow mailings to go out from Ramada Plaza Resorts.
