Randuel approached me on the middle of the night asking for money for a taxi cab, assuring me that he had to go to TriBeCa. He mentioned that he came from Los Angeles for a fashion show in New York City. When I initially refused to give him money, he acted as any good con-artist: getting pretty nervous, and appearing to be to the point of desperation. I wish I could have had my phone with battery, as during the Google Search all of those scams would appear. I had to cancel my monthly donation to OXFAM as I am already in a very tight college budget. I hope this report helps to the greater good so that empathetic people like me are not taken advantage and that the same money could go to a charity, foundation, or another good cause. Never, ever give money to people on the street! If you are on a monthly payment with your preferred foundation, you are already doing your part. No need to be empathetic on the street.
