Now that I think of this, the Raven Media company was a spam on the heels of a Chris Johnson, Grant Educator search. I had initiated a search for grant information and read through the Chris Johnson site. I attended the webinar for the Chris Johnson site and when I could not afford the fees needed to purchase his program about government grants, somehow, the Raven Media Company and website came on the computer screen. I figured for $2.29, I would just look at a cd and submitted debit card information to get same. I received two or three phone calls asking from Raven Media asking about the type of grant I might be interested in and whether I received the cd, and whether I wanted to be eligible for a free gas card. By the way, the cd on line as a download could not be opened when I downloaded it and I decided to try again when had more time and especially since I thought I would receive it in the mail, anyway. About five days later $39.95 appears on my checking account online and I call the company, Raven Media, where "Lisa" advised that it was for access to a website. I told her that I had not authorized this amount; that the amount authorized was a quoted $2.29 for shpping and processing. I, at this time, thought that even though I had not authorized, I would try it; and Lisa gave me an access code to get onto the site to review the information thereon. I also indicated concern that it was a one-time fee in that I could not afford more than the once fee (even though I did not initially authorize. I just tried to be okay with it, since they had done it, and was going to use the information despite the lack of permission. When I tried to use the site, I could not get onto the site that she gave with the access code and during such search, I came across the Ripoff site with a description/variation of what happened to me with this same company. Terms of Service BENEATH THE FOLD - Oh, why, why, why?

I took a look at the order process for the GrantMaster CD. On the site I went through the order process on (without entering a credit card number) - the statement about the Terms and Conditions were BELOW the fold UNDERNEATH the Submit button. Here's what's stated BENEATH the fold AFTER the credit card informaiton is submitted: "Terms and Disclosures. By clicking "Submit", I am ordering the Grant Master CD and trial membership for $2.99 S&H, after the seven day trial I will be charged $39.95 a month thereafter if I do not cancel. I also agree to the fourteen day and twenty-one day bonus trials to Express Business Funding and Network Agenda for $7.95 a month and $9.95 a month thereafter, should I choose not to cancel. I have read and agree to the PRIVACY POLICY (updated 03/14/2008) | Terms and Conditions. Charges will appear on credit/debit statements as "www.center4grants.com". For questions, call 1-800-479-0979 M-F, 9am-9pm, EST." By comparison, the other day I was at a site promoting another product that presented ALL those types of details BEFORE the submit button and ABOVE the fold. Something's not adding up here IMHO.

I would like to discuss Gloria's concerns with her to insure that she is taken care of. Unfortunately, without a last name or an email address I cannot find her account with the necessary contact information. First and foremost I offer an apology for the breakdown in service Gloria obviously experienced. Our policy is to never charge anyone who is not interested the membership portion of the offer. Clients simply need to follow the instructions to contact customer support at 1-866-396-5694 and express a desire to cancel during the free trial period, or anytime thereafter to discontinue the membership and fees. If our support staff fails to offer the quality and professionalism that we expect to provide then I would personally like to know about it so that I can resolve the issue so that it doesn't continue to happen. I also guarantee to personally see to it that anyone who has had a negative experience with our staff or company is satisfied.
