Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I bought a 42" RCA TV at Walmart in may of 2008,and it worked fine untill it stopped working. We called Thomson Electronics and they gave us a company to call.

We call them, they came out and said the power supply had gone out,and would order 1 and get back with us. Well about a week latter I called back and they said the part was on back order, from RCA.

At this point I called Thomson Consumer Relations, and asked them when the part would be off back order, they said they did not order parts, and had no way of knowing when the part would come in. This seemed wrong so I asked them for a phone number of someone who could help me.

Well after calling at least 4 different phone numbers that they gave us, still no help. At last I got a person who said they would call the repair shop, they told told us to contact. I waited on the line while they called them.

Finally they came back on and said the part was on order and would be in 1-2-2009. Thats what they were told. (lie) I told them that thats not what the repair company had just told me, and could I please talk to a superviser, after quite a wait on hold they said, all superviser were busy.

At that point I told them I would wait for someone not to be busy. After holding for about 15 mins. the same person came back on and said they were still busy, at this point I told them no problem I could wait till hell froze over.

Well I finally got a superviser, whos name was Sarah, she also told me my part would be in 1-2-2009 because thats what her computer told her. At this point I told her people had entered the wrong information and were lying to me.

I ask her to call the repair shop and ask them about the part, and I stayed on the line. She came back and said she had talked the them and they said it would be in 1-2-2009, at this point I ask her was she sure? That I was going to call the repair company,as soon as we hung up, she said thats what they told her.

When I called the repair company back they told me to stop calling them the part was on back order and they would call me when it came in, and yes they had talked to Sarah and told her the samething they just told me, and by the way I would have to bring the TV into there shop when the part came in. or pay a $100 service charge for comming back to my house to fix the TV that is still under the orginal factory warrenty. After looking at my warrenty it said service calls were covered.

.At this point I called Walmart to see if they could do any thing for me. They said that after 90 days they had to deal with RCA/Thomson just like me, and they, had not had much luck with them, before when they tryed.

Well I am still sitting here paying $89 a month for HD satelite service, for the next 2 years, and not watching TV. Do Not Buy A RCA TV or have anything to do with Thomson Elec. They are Rip Offs and do not even care if you know it!

Shame on you RCA and Walmart for selling such junk and not careing 1 bit about what people say or do!

You cannot blame Walmart for electronic products which break down.

Walmart sells electronic products. They do not manufacture the electronic products. This means you cannnot blame Walmart (or any other retailer) if a television, radio, Apple Ipod, MP3 player, or DVD player breaks down. If the electronics product breaks down, you have to contact the manufacturer. You stated the expected ETA (expected time of arrival) of your television power supply was 01/02/2009 (Friday), but today is only 01/04/2009. You did not say when did your television stop working. Electronic products do break down, that is why computer repair shops exists. The Thomson Consumer Relations is just that consumer relations. They are not involved with the physical repairs and thus they do not order the parts. Your local electronics repair contractor who is contracted to work on Thomson RCA televisions is the company that should be communicating with the RCA parts facility. And no, I am not defending Thomson and I do not work for them. The power supply on back order with Thomson probably means they are waiting for a shipment from their manufacturer in Mexico or China.
