I rented DVDs from Red Box until they have been unable to track returns or willfully billing $25 non return charge for returned movies. Three of the last six movies rented and returned have been deemed "not returned". Red Box kiosks do not issue a receipt on return so it just your word against theirs.  And they believe I am lying to keep a stupid DVD.

I believe they are incompetent or disreputable, I hope it's just incompetence. They were unwilling to credit my charge card the overcharge they claimed. Do not use their service thinking $1 dvd rentals are good value. A couple of non return charges will cost you $50. Not a great value and it will be insulting trying to correct the "mistake"

- Incorrect if you enter your e-mail address when you pick up the DVD you not only get a receipt that you rented it, but when you return it you will get a Receipt automatically when it is returned.  If you pre-pay it on-line your e-mail address is already entered and they will send a receipt to that e-mail address.  If you are doing this and not getting them check with your e-mail client and make sure it is not being treated as spam.

I rent from them quite often and not only do I get a receipt each time, I have yet to have them claim they didn't get a DVD returned.

I could see where one or even two DVD's could have an issue.  But if every other DVD you are renting is not being returned there is something going on.  If this is at one RedBox it could be an issue with that RedBox.  Have you ever requested that they send a technician to check if in fact the DVD is there?  Other possibilities may include that you are not putting the DVD's in correctly so they don't get read.  Are you sure you are putting them in a RedBox?  There are other machines that look similar and since they use similar technology they will accept a DVD just like it was one of theirs.
