I went for the interview...they gave me no indication that it's commission based. They called me back for a second interview and send me off in the field with some 20 year old rookie who had no experience, no exposure and no university education.

They guy is sugar coating everything. I start to ask that will the firm pay for our travelling, he says no. Then he's all like that he started about 5 months ago and he's already been promoted to the 3rd level (whatever that means). Then we get to the "Event" and it's a mall on the west side. They have set up a small kiosk just at the entrance of the mall.

That's where it hits me that they want us to stand there and try to sell some product. They never conveyed this to me in the 2 interviews. I asked him about the timings. We had to come 6 days a week. Had to be at the office at about 7. Then leave for the field to get to the "Event". Stay there from at least 10 to 6. Then go back to the office and then go home.

The product was to sign up for a gas company which was free of charge to sign up and leave. I said to the guy that what if we tell the customer to sign up for a while and then once we get our commission they can cancel the subscription after 10 or so days.

That's where he started to sweat a little and would not give me a straight answer. Finally I told him to tell me the whole deal. He said that once you sign up a customer, there is a 3 month bond type period. Once the customer lasts with the company for 3 months only then we get paid.

So basically, we get paid after 3 months if we sign up a customer. They wasted my 2 days and travelling money. They along with other similar type of marketing companies are doing the same. Stray away from them.

Well my experience with Red Planet was completely different. I worked there for over a year before i started Uni and I thought it was great. I don't really know what this person is talking about when he says everything is sugar coated because I thnk it's the opposite and that you get told everything in advance. I have already requested to work For RP again when I graduate so I can get involved in the development programme they offer. I can only assume that the person writing this negative report was not offered the job!
