A lot of people don't realize that they have rights in these situations. The statment on the form is an exculpatory clause -- total bs when an establishment invites people in to conduct business. So when you see these signs (like at hotels), don't let them bully you. Because your son signed the work order (or did he?) it may be a little harder to deal with. Not to mention states with poor consumer-rights laws. In any case, the dealer should be willing to do the right thing for a customer who got screwed like this -- and I would at least let people know their folks steal from customers.

The paperwork that you receive from Ford when you turn in the truck for service says that they are not responsible for items that are left in the car. If the collection was that valuable than you should not have left them in the car. What proof does Ford have other than your word that they were there? I thank your son for his service in defending us and God Bless him and all the troops serving this great country.
