Realtors beware....this Company is a scam....

I am usually a very sceptical person;with many years in the real estate industry; but this Company got me...

I received a phone call from this Company stating their organization generates leads for Realtors.  I asked how they got my phone number and they said from my local R E Association (Board) to represent that they have credibility.  Being skeptical I asked how their lead generation system worked.  To make a long story short basically implied that they would not charge me for the lead until I have a qualified lead and confident that the lead would turn into a client.  I am usually pretty good in interviewing potential clients so this part seemed OK to me.  Especially since this Company Rep reassured me several times I would not be charged except for the initial non refundable set up fee of $55.00. and I could cancel this service anytime within 30 days.  She said I would receive an email confirming this and a disclosure of terms and conditions that I would need to accept.

Couple of days went by I received a call from the account rep for my area and asked if I received the email of terms and conditions.  I said I hadn't she said to check my spam might be there.  So that was a red flag to me.. I checked and there was the email.  I read the terms and conditions which where not want the representative had told me originally.  I would be charged as soon as a lead is sent to me and I would have to request a credit on the next billing cycle.  I immediately called the account rep and told her I did not agree to their terms and I am cancelling this service.  She said she couldn't cancel that 2 leads had been sent to me I would be charged for.  I told her I did not accept the terms nor did I accept or call the leads and I am cancelling this service and I do not authorized my account to be charged.  I notified my bank to block charges from this Company.  I thought this was over since I heard nothing and my account was not charged.

On March 17, 2011  exactly one month from cancelling this service my bank account was charged for 2 leads.  I immediately called Reply and got voice mail so I emailed the acct rep.  She responded that since I received the leads I would be charged for them. I sent her a copy of my email cancelling this service a month ago and reminded her that I never checked the box agreeing to their terms.   I have since disputed the charge with my bank.  So we will see if this Company disputes my disputed charge.

I am posting this because of hard times for Realtors; there are companies out there that are scamming Realtors knowing this and taking advantage of our depressed market.  I know that this is naive of me; but I am so disappointed in the direction our country is going.

i read your comment and im sorry for that experience. we have a specific list of details that we have to go through before setting you up with the program. as far as the rep that set you up should have went through it. I have heard that same thing in the past and I can say that now we have a verification team that will go through it again. personally i have lost a few sales because the broker/agent didnt understand what i have told them. i go through everything...everything.

so from a concerned rep. i ask for forgiveness.
