I received a phone call from someone named Cara identifying herself with the US Government. My application for a grant has been approved in the amt of $4500. and I will never have to pay the amt back to the government. It can be used for whatever I need it for. I need to give them my address, birth date, last 4 digits of my social security no. and a credit/debt card number so they can bill me for $3.95 for processing, shipping and handling charges. Once the call was ended I began to think and realized I have been scam (how dumb am I) The callers name never came up id caller ID. I went on the government website and read up on the info to see if I was right about being scammed. I called my bank and told them the story and they cancelled my bank card and issued me a new one and was told me to keep a close eye on my acct. I then contacted the 3 credit score cos. and posted a "fraud alert" on my reports. I received another call (caller id came up "unknown") wanting to verify the info that was given to Cara. I told the called that this was a scam and her argued with me until I told him I went to the government websit he then hang up. When I checked my acct yesterday there was a charge of $3.95 "pending" it wasnt until today when I checked it that the company name came up and transaction is still pending.
