If RBD is paying you minimum wage and makes a deduction from your paycheck for a tablet computer, you are making less than minimum wage for that pay period. This is illegal, becaue it violates the minimum wage law. It does not matter whether they return the deposit later. Getting involved in a class-action suit is quite time consuming. A simple solution to the problem is to let them know that what they are doing is illegal and request your deposit back. I did this through the RBD help desk and received my deposit back immediately.

FYI I can personally vouch that this is 100% truth having gone thru same situation and actually speaking to others who have and are still going thru it. Currently I am interviewing legal representation for possible class action lawsuit (NATIONWIDE) due to the fact that it is turning out to be quite the scam for RBD, Inc to have gotten away with this type of employee abuse with no regard to state and federal payroll laws.
If any others, no matter where you are, have fallen victim to this treatment from RBD, Inc/Retail Done Right, please take a few minutes to describe your experience from RBD with accurate and precise documentation to be able to be contacted by the attorneys in the near future. Companies like this are killing our American spirit of being able to earn a living without getting beat up mentally and/or physically. I mean isn't getting a job hared enough uthese days??
