rex fritz builders ripoff consumer rip-off fraud Caro Michigan
would really appreciate some help with a problem I have. I am retired and on a fixed income. I can not afford to overlook this. A while back a builder did some work for me. I checked to make sure he had a valid builders license as he said he did. I checked on the licensed builders number and it was valid.
I called the license holder and it was agreed that the builder was his relative and he worked for him, I got the builders license number and put it on the first check for $6,000 dollars, the work was never completed and has cost me over $8,000 to repair/finish. I took him to court and won. apx. $8,000. Here is the catch.
The builders Uncle (the license holder) came here and agreed to fix everything. Until he seen that his building number was not on the permit, my name was on the permit as the builder told me it must be, he told me how to get the permit and I had got it. I went to the Tuscola County court house and found out that this builder ( not the person holding the license) had many complaints and owed many people money.
I contacted my lawyer and he advised me to go to the state police which I did. They were at one time going to go after the builder for misrepresentation among other things, but for some reason the State Police did not pursue this. The State Police were at one time going to the prosecutor with this but again stopped short. The builder walked away free again. Turns out I am on a long list of people bilked by this builder, he also charged me for hauling away old material in a dumpster he owns and claimed to be in waste removal. When I asked him later what he does with the old material he said he just buries it on his property.
The builder who is well off finally gets away with these scams by hiding behind some law that stops his property's from being taken because he has kids (as my lawyer told me). Also he keeps the checking in his wife's name and such. There are other people he bilked that have taken him to court also, they have won and collected nothing just like me. At this point I don't know where to go. Any advice would be appreciated.
