Richard Hart

I believe that this is an ex employer trying to discredit me. He uses his money to ruin the reputation of his ex employees. Even ones like me who have earned him millions of dollars. He knows who he is and what he does. It is true that I am an ex contractor and small developer and may have worked for a Melissa in Philadelphia, but no one in their right mind gives three projects to a contractor at once without working with them and vetting them first. No one can move tenants in without L and I inspections. Therefore, I doubt the veracity of these complaints. I am not stating that I am perfect, because I certainly am not, but the coward who is making sure that these posts re-appear is far worse and will be found out. I had not addressed these posts in the pas as I shoul have but now feel obligated to as I know the nature of the person behind this smear campaign. You kow who you are. God bless you and be just with you.

Melissa: I have found one of Richard Hart's company names listed in Philadelphia's License & Inspection Contractors Lists. His License Number from L&I is 22926 and the list also includes the same Cherry Hill address which I provided you earlier in January. No phone # provided. But perhaps you can contact L&I and report him and they *may* take some action. The URL for the contractor listing is: http://www.phila.gov/li/faq/contractor/20060313contractor.pdf Good luck Melissa. You can reach me at the address I provided you.

Melissa: Richard Hart no longer lives at the Medford address you provided. My wife and I bought that property from him December 2004 and we can be reached there. I will gladly provide you with his new address in the hopes that it helps you gain a resolution. As of Dec. 2004, Richard Hart's address is at 1373 Paddock Way, Cherry Hill, New Jersey 08034. The cell phone number you had for Hart was the same one he gave me. Sorry to hear of your problems with him. We have sued him for fraud.

I forgot to add a little more to my suggestion. How on Earth were you able to have your tenants move in before you received final inspection from the county/city/state examiners? There is no way they will approve a building with no vent lines on the plumbing, and faulty electrical. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE. Did you even let the city know what you were doing? If you didn't let the city know, and you allowed tenants to move in, AND you hired an unlicensed contractor, you are going to be in a HUGE financial mess. You are basically going to go bankrupt over this. For your sake, I hope I'm wrong.

If he's a license & bonded contractor, take him to the state contractor board. They will investigate this issue, and if he did all that you say, they will revoke his license. Also, if he is bonded, then his bond will pay for all necessary repairs. On another note. Where were you upon project completion. Contractors cannot finish their job until the owner signs off on the work. This means you do a walkthrough, and create a punchlist of everything that is wrong. Then, Hart Const. MUST complete the entire punchlist before you pay them the remainder of their contract. Unless... You went without a bonded contractor, and didn't verify his license, because he was a low bidder. If that's the case, you had what was coming to you.
