Riverstone does the same here. I think it is a nationwide rule of theirs to treat blacks unfair. And to provide disgusting living considering it is a "luxury" property. I just posted my situation for San Regis Apartments which Riverstone manages.

Hi Linda - I am so very sorry to hear that you are being treated so unfairly. I felt compelled to respond because I think that a resource may be available to help you. I do some volunteer undercover field work for a local Fair Housing Council. This is part of a network of 90+ such organizations in the country (these are independent, not gvmnt-controlled) that enforce the fair housing laws (working alongside HUD and te US Dept of Justice) and seek to end discrimination at this level. While I am not sure that the organization I will recommend will have the resources to help in your specific situation (many simply deal with initial refusal to rent to someone of a different race, etc) I am sure that they will have heard a similar story before, and will be able to at the very least refer you to someone who can help. I have taken the liberty of looking up the Maryland organization - don't be fooled by the name "Baltimore..." - the organization I work for spans many counties and networks all over my state as well. Please, call these folks and tell them your story. There are people out there who care and who work tirelessly to put a stop to bigotry and ignorance in the housing market.
