Found out in court that the contracts were in fact valid even though Bob never had obtained permit to solicite work. Sued Bob for almost $7000. Court sided with us for under $4000. Bob has yet to give us any money. I don't know why the legal system allows this stuff to go on, but we keep trying.
Since court, we had a decent couple guys step in and finish/fix the bulk of the stuff. Before starting, it was pointed out to me even more problems. The 4x8 sheets of plywood on the floor were laid down wrong. The install was 90 degrees off and didn't allow for the tongue and groove to do it's thing. So that's why the floor was bouncy at the seems. When the stucco was pulled off, there was black mold on the osb. It took these guys less than an hour to pull the stucco off and clean up. The curved wall was a joke. After removing one side, a wall made of scraps was showing. Scraps. Unbelievable. This was built by a guy who claims to watch Holmes on Holmes as a fan.
I went downstairs to see what else got missed. I found nicks in the new wiring. Nothing labeled in the box. The more I looked around, it was pretty evident they lied about having an electrical inspector in our home. I found wiring moved to share breakers with appliances like our furnace.
Bob, we found out later, obtained his degree while in jail.
I really hope that people stop letting him in the door.
