ROCTEL I am a senior citizen on a fixed income, and when I received my phone bill yesterday, I discovered $14.95 monthly charge for ROCTEL. The charge is alledgedly for PRIVACYPLUSVM monthly fee. I never ever signed up for any such thing. Dublin Ireland
I am furious with this "so-called" company because I never ordered any type of phone service or voice mail service from them and I am being billed $14.95 per month for a privacyplus voice mail service. I saw this charge on my phone bill and called QWEST because I didn't even know who (or what) ROCTEL is. The phone company customer service representative told me. I said I did not order this service and wanted the charges removed from my phone bill. The representative did remove the current charges but I was informed that unless I contact the company and get them to stop billing me for something I never ordered and am not receiving, the monthly charge will continue on my bill. I have spent two hours online trying to send them an e-mail concerning this blatant rip-off, and each e-mail comes back as undeliverable. I am so angry about this whole thing, it is just one more example of consumer ripoff, which is fraudulent and no doubt will mess up my phone bills and credit. Be warned; if you see a charge on your phone bill you do not recognize, call your phone company right away and report it. Otherwise, you could end up paying for something you don't want, month after month. It is just onee more scam aimed at senior citizens and others who do not pay attention to the details on their bills.
