Rumi Lounge - Pavan Sharma Rumi Bar Chelsea Staff Wait for Customers to Get Drunk and then Demand Money and Assault them London, Internet
Avoid at all costs. Venue is a complete SCAM. We booked 30th Birthday drinks a month in advance for 30 guests, we were told that we would get the main area across the dance floor where 20 or so people could sit. When we go to the venue we were told this would not be possible and we were caged into an area for 10 people. We didn't mind too much about this because at this point we were all still having a good time. As the night went on the drinks mysteriously started getting more and more expensive. It became apparent the bar manager was instructing his staff to raise the prices on the drinks. When we asked the manager what was going on he replied "why are you being such a b***h?" Apparently this seems to go on at the venue every week. The staff notice people getting more and more merry and take advantage of people hoping they wont notice. This is blatent FRAUD. As I explained to the bar manager I do not mind the prices however to raise them as the night went on was a joke. As we left the staff started jeering at us about how they had scammed us and that it was all going in their pocket so I replied to the bar manager that I would be speaking to my bank and getting my transactions reversed which wiped the smile right off his face. He then tried to swing for me and his own bouncers had to stop him from laying a punch. His staff then came out and started swinging punches at other members of our party and there was a point where had we not walked off they would have started a full on brawl with us. The bar manager behaved like an animal. I think its safe to say we wont be going back there and also the 30 guests who saw what happened will probably not bother either. So well done Rumi congrats on a shambles of a venue.
