This company requested our services and agreed to our rates.  In January 2010 they stopped paying the invoices and started making excuse after excuse about why they could not pay, and they did not have the money to pay their consultants.  Steve did not return calls and was always out of the office.  When I started sending them invoices reflecting a Late Fee on the past due invoice, I was told they do not pay late fees (although I am sure they charge their clients late fees and sue for collection as well).  After repeated calls, Joy  told me that whenever I call to try to learn the status of my invoices, that they automatically go to the bottom of the "to be paid" pile.  When I called and demanded payment and told them that if necessary I would have to send them to collections I was told "Do whatever you need to do".  Dan has taken over in this matter and continues to offer no resolution other than to say that they did not get paid by their insurance company and that they will not pay until they do.  He has also told me to stop calling to get paid because it is a distraction to his efforts.  Well, I think if he was not paid for almost a year he would be more distracted.  These people own Apartments and advertise all over as supplying housing to UCLA students.  Yet they do not pay their bills a company that provided services as requested.  They promise they will pay, but it appears that they are just stalling to see if I will go away while they collect millions in rent.  If you do any work for them, make sure you never let them get more than 30 days out and make sure you have every possible contract possiblity covered.  Always file a Lien on them but from my experience be prepared.  They use very high priced Attorneys that will bankrupt you before they pay you.  Their employees have no problem telling you stories about payment, because it happens every day.
