I started Sacred Heart thinking that I would get my masters in nursing, and I willing to pay the high tuition cost.  I started my first class at the beginning of this year, and the instructor was marvelous and made every effort to accommodate the students.  I was impressed with the university.

The second class was a bitter disappointment.  The instructor told us to ask questions, but when a question was thrown her way, her response was the same, "read the syllabus".  After struggling to achieve a B, which is a low score, I hoped this would be the last inferior instructor that I would have to deal with.

The third class went so smooth again with an instructor passionate about teaching and passing on her knowledge to her students, which renewed my views on SHU.

The fourth class was a nightmare I still can't seem to wake up from.  The instructor awarded me 0's for not participating, which I responded to her via e-mail notifying her that I had indeed participated.  The dialog boxes clearly depicts my responses, but the instructor would not respond.  I had to contact the Dean of Nursing for this instructor to respond, and when she did, she said that I was an exceptional student that should be able to "overcome" the points awarded to me.  This response made me drop the class, but since it had been three weeks from the beginning, I had to sign documents and write a complaint to almost everyone in the nursing department.  I then had write an appeal to get my tuition back from SHU, which I was awarded, but two months later, my account is now in default because SHU refuses to credit my account for the tuition.  The entire time, SHU failed to mention about the $6,500 loan check that they had received back in August, and when I brought it up to accounts, they had no idea of the money I was talking about.  After pointing it out several times that my money either needs to be sent to me or back to the lender, the student accounts advisor told me that I had to fill out my "SHU card" to choose how I want the money reimbursed.  I'm currently still fighting to get the account resolved and to get my money.  Meanwhile, my credit score keeps dropping, and I've missed out on opportunities to attend other universities.  Attending SHU has been the worse decision I have ever made.
