Safety Sense Technologies is no longer in business but I've discovered that Dave Meadors(Pete Lucarelli's minion) moved to Orlando and now works for Southern Atlantic Safety, another distributor for Detech. I would be very cautious in taking a job with this company if they use the same approach of driving revenue by hiring individuals and forcing them to put their system in their homes, and by having the employees prey on their family and friends through scare tactics. I have seen first hand how low Dave Meadors will go into "guilting" someone to buy the system and was told personally to tell buyers the interest rate on the system is 3% when in actuality it is over 21% So don't be shocked when you receive your first bill from Time Investment, a sister company of Detech that is conveniently owned by the brother of Detech's CEO, and the interest rate is over 21%. They're business model of churn'em and burn'em is how they make their money. They put a system in your house and when you ask them "what happens if things don't work out with the company what happens to the system?" Dave will simply say "we'll get to that later" but as stated by others he will never get to it. They have in their contract that you have three days to return it so in the end your stuck financially. It happened to me and many others so be extremely careful if you are contemplating employment or if you are unfortunate enough to have Dave Meadors in your house. Also, they mainly prey on homes with children because they whole "fire safety presentation" is based around making parents feel guilty for not protecting their children". You are told to call the parents mom and dad, use their children's name throughout the presentation, and put their children in theoretical situations where they die because the parents thought the cost of the system was higher then the value of their own children.

The other reports about the bad business practices of Pete's are true. He uses a turn-over of employees to get what he needs and sends you on your way making you feel that it's your fault. In addition to the alarm system they make you put in your house and the damge done to friends because they are the first victims, you are required to put boxes out at various locations (resturants, hair salons, toy stores). First, most of these places have been burned by this before because people come back and want to know why some guy is trying to give them tickets to some event but they can't have them until you show up to there house. There's always some big scheme Pete comes up with to get the boxes in (like buying $1000 worth of gift cards from them) but it never happens and the owner is furious which adds to the rediculous nature of this whole thing. Second, Pete threatens you if you try to "look behind the curtain". I tried to talk to other employees who worked there before (or where working there) when I started getting suspecious. I was promptly told that it was illeagal and violated privicy laws. If it's so great and everybody needs it, what is he hiding? Nothing really. He's just a fake, money hungry con that uses you and sends you out the door. In addition, you have to appologize to friends, still haven't made any money, and owe his company $2000+. DO NOT buy anything from them. DO NOT register your name at a box to win anything from them. AND MOST OF ALL - Don't let them in your house. You can get the protection you need at a quarter of the cost.
