Saint Matthew's Churches Money scam ripoff Tulsa Oklahoma
I received the "Prayer Rug" from Saint Matthew's Churches yesterday. My curiosity was piqued and I opened the letter and read, wondering how and why this was sent to me. It instantly smelled of a scam but I read it completely and wondered if any good could come of something like this, whether it was sent with pure intentions or not. I opened my Bible to search for answers and found this.
"For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs." 1 Timothy 6:10(NIV)
The best answers to our questions can always be found in God's own Word. It's amazing how He can directly speak to us and answer our questions when we turn to Him! I have read the above verse many times before but I believe I was led to it again this time by the Holy Spirit in answer to my question.
My initial gut feeling about the letter was that it was a scam. Turning to Scripture supported that feeling. Then, just to see if anyone else had anything to say about it, I found this site with all of your comments. My advice...Read your Bible!
"Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world." 1 John 4:1(NIV)
"Test everything. Hold on to the good." 1 Thessalonians 5:21(NIV)
