A man ran a red light and totalled my 1996 Mustang. Stuff Happens.

After the accident Oklahoma City P.D. had Sammy's Wrecker Service tow my car to their LOCKED site where my car was kept in a building connected to the main office.

While at the scene I was able to remove 2 subwoofers and many other important or valuable items.

When the wrecker arrived my stepfather was unhooking the amplifier that powered my subs and the wrecker guy told him he was not allowed to remove ANYTHING from the car.

As it is MY CAR until I release it, I should have the right to remove any of my possessions.

When I went to retrieve my possessions, I was told that I was not allowed to take anything. I was not even allowed to look at my car without supervision.

I understand supervision to avoid anything dangerous around the wrecked automobiles.

I then returned with written requests by my insurance and for the third time, had my proof of ownership with me.

Upon opening up my trunk, my amplifier was gone.

The service (after much difficulty and hesitation) agreed to pay for my amplifier.

In order to get my money, I had to drive across town to another location to recieve a check. The lady said to be there at 1pm and she'd give me a check. The lady was at lunch 10 minutes before 1 and did not arrive until about 2. That was annoying but oh well.

Then after giving the company a copy of my original reciept for the amp, we found out the amp is no longer made... LAST year's model. I bought it in February, it is now September. The service agreed to reimburse me for the comparable amp which was $248 after tax.

When I finally got my check it was for $220, the price of the original amp, tax not included.

I told them that was not what we agreed upon and they were back and forth on the phone to see if it was "okay" to give me the full amount. I got on the phone with the lady from the OTHER office and she said, "Is that the only problem? You're making this big of a deal about 20-30 bucks?" I'm sorry 20-30 bucks may not be a big deal to a company but to me, a college student, it's 20-30 bucks I can't just go out and spend. They finally wrote me the correct check after I wouldn't back down.

The entire process was ridiculous. I had to fight with them to get the proper amount, the whole time they were rude and treating me like a child. No sorry we stole your equipment, no sorry it was so difficult... Bringing to mind the fact that the reason I was there was because someone either with access to their building or WORKING FOR THEM stole my stuff.

I will never again do business here. If a cop suggests Sammy's tell him no thanks and call someone else. Take out everything. If they won't let you... GET AN ATTORNEY.

I will next time.
