I attended the CVT program at Sanford Brown in Ft. Lauderdale.  The admissions rep fraudulently represented the "after graduation" employment numbers, the accreditation of the school, and the school loan process. You do not learn the facts until after your money has been paid.

The admission reps receive a bonus when their students graduate. If you do not have the credits necessary to enroll in the program, the admission rep will find away to get you ineven illegally. Most people pass the courses regardless of whether you come to class or not. Grades are not given based on skill level. They are based on keeping the enrollment figures high.

Externships are not real. You are told that you will actually do the job of an echo tech. You will acquire real-life, experience to take to the job market. You will scan patients in a doctors office or hospital environment. What you actually encounter is very little scanning time and no experience. In some cases, students have not been allowed to touch the patients. Because the program is not accredited, you need 800 hours of externship to take the CCI Registry for Echocardiography (if you dont have a Bachelors degree). The school will only insure you for 600 hours. The Externship sites know this and sign off on 800 hours. This is not legal. If you happen to have a site that is on the up and up and will not sign your paperwork, there is no way for you to take the Registry Exam.  No one will hire you without the Registry.

The end resultunemployment with a $ 40,000 school loan.

Several class-action suits have been filed.  I am currently looking for a Florida attorney willing to take my case. There are several students from the CVT, Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound, Dental Assisting and Pharmacy Tech programs who attended the Ft. Lauderdale campus with the same result.
