Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I went to UDS aka Sanford Brown Institute, to take the course in general ultrasound. I was talked out of that by one of their reps who told me that men don't do well in that field and that I should take cardiovascular ultrasound, there was more of a demand. (I guess they needed to fill the class)

I graduated Valedictorian of my class in March of 2003 and became a Registered Cardiac Sonographer about 6 months later. (I was told taking the registry was a big plus) and since then have worked 5 weeks in the last 19 months at a temporary assignment in Mississippi. (There I was told my skills weren't up to par)

While in the class we didn't receive any vascular training at all, there wasn't enough time. (additional tests were given on the tough courses so people could get that 75% average to pass) We were told we could come back and take the vascular portion when we wanted. (They don't offer one)

In a nutshell, I found out there are very few, if any, jobs throughout the country, let alone in Houston, for new graduates, no matter what your qualifications. That in three years the price for the course I had taken had risen from about $12,000 to about $23,000. That they are now telling new students, in the same program, that most of them will be hired by the place where they do their externship. Not true, I don't know of anyone who that has happened to.

Now I have a huge student loan, no way of paying it off, no way of getting another one to go back to school, and no prospect of work. Besides that the skills are getting awful rusty, so that even if I was offered a job, I don't know if they would hire me. Oh, now I'am overqualified for every job I've applied for.

Let me know if anyone has any ideas of how to get our money back. The school has told me that they'll try and help me find a job but I'm not counting on that.
