Aaron Santiso and his assistant Kathryn both told me that in exchange for Physical Therapy services, I needed to
pay cash as a Self-pay, because Aaron could not be bothered to obtain authorization for reimbursements from Liberty
Health Sharing Ministries, who I am a member of in place of traditional health insurance. Aaron gave me only a receipt for my payments. His assistant told me that they did not provide full invoices with diagnoses. In attempting to be reimbursed,
Liberty told me that Santiso needed to send them a treatment plan. After a full month of asking, Santiso finally sent the treatment plan. Once Liberty authorized Twenty visits, I called them when I did not receive any checks in the mail. Liberty told me that they had paid Santiso, not me! Santiso gave Liberty no credit for my payments, but billed them Three times the amount he had billed me. Santiso told me that it was Kathryn's fault that I had been misled. Instead of correcting the situation, Santiso has billed me $ 1,897 more, giving me no credit for the $ 990 he has been paid by Liberty.
What I learned: don't pay a medical care provider unless they provide an invoice with diagnosis suitable for submission to your insurance, or at the very least which establishes the fee.
