Unless you specifically have a long distance plan that covers overseas calls, most of the big companies, like sprint, att and mci all charge anywhere from $1.50 to $3 a minute for calls. I found out the hard way, with a company that presented its contact info for New York, but used an area code that was in Canada. When I got the bill it was $25 for like only 10 minutes. But with the internet you could have used the instant messenging and with speakers and microphone, the converstation you had could have included audio. For area code info, check www.nanpa.com which has an area code search. I hope this helps for next time.
