last thursday we were to have our central ac checked we waited all day i was called about 4:45 that the tech would not be there until 7 pm, the person who called made the appointment for the next day. i was told between 8 and 5. waiting all day the tech showed up about 6 to do the service. he walked around the house and asked what kind of windows we had, then he told me i can get sears window for you.... was he a salesman no he was a tech but maybe he is getting a finders fee if i buy.

finally around 6:30 he was looking at the unite outside and said he had to change a part he did came back into our house then there was a loud pop, he went out to the unite and said the compressor blew up....

i asked when can he have a new on installed, not sure i have to check with my boss, jeff nobel manager of the service area for contracts... he said i left a message and can not reach him.... while out side my wife was watching him he chased her inside saying you do not need to check what i am doing....

he then got into his truck aabout 7:45 and told me he was filing a report, so i asked him again what do we do with ut any ac. he said call sears!

well we did they told me it will be thursday the 13th for the instilation and repair. they did offer me $100 for me to buy a protable unite on wheels the unite only covers one room.... we went to a hotel to play safe because the house temp was atound 82 and we have fans.

moday this jeff nobl told me that the extended warenty would not covet the compressor.... he told me the there was a wire running to alight and it was out of code. for 12 year no one ever told us this, so i said i would get it fixed to day. he said you have to pay 2800 or more for the unite.

he offered me to call a number to see if it would cover the cost, i did talked to herman and he said it was covered and thei wire issue was not a concern during our call we got discounted, so i called back looking for tis person goet a danile he said he would help because he could not find herman.... the final out come was on thursday a tech would come between 8 am and 5 pm to see what the problem was. he was told the story but we have to confirm the proble because the tech did not order the part.

then it will tale about 4 to 6 days to replace the part... they can not offer money for a hotel room and any compensation.

my take on this issue is the unite is 12 years old and they do not want to replace it!

IF YOU BUY A APPLIANCE AND BUY THE EXTENDED WARRITY I WOULD NOT DO THIS... SEARS IS NOT DOING ANYTHING FOR US.... I CAN SEE WHY THEY ARE HAVING ISSUES AND ARE LOOSING MONEY SO THEY THROUGH THIS ON THE BACKS OF THE CUSTOMERS. DO NOT USE SEARS THEY SUCK!!!

 Your unit is 12 years old. Most warrenties STOP after 10 years. SO now you want to blame SEARS for not replacing your unit?? How can you expect them to do such a thing if its not covered by your warrenty? This is not a ripoff. This is that your warrenty DOES NOT COVER the part. A warrenty IS NOT a complete cover all solution to your problems. It is on you to read and understand EXACTLY what your warrenty covers. Its also your responsability to know what is being done to any equiptment you have serviced. This is a "sour grapes" report. Obviously you had the idea that your warrenty covered something that it did not. Ok thats an easy mistake to make. But to turn around and bash a company for not giving you your way not only shows that you are not a responsable individual, but your also petty and childish. Dont compound the issue by lying about a perfectly good company. Accept the responsability and get your AC fixed. Isnt it amazing how ppl b***h and complain and look to have ANYONE else pay for their mistakes??
